Adolf Stelter
Adolf Stelter (born March 27, 1882 in Jastrow ; † March 29, 1956 in Erfurt ) was a German lawyer and politician .
Life
Born as the son of a master finisher , Stelter studied law in Jena and Greifswald after attending grammar school in Neustettin . In 1900, while studying, he became a member of the Germania Jena fraternity . After the first state examination in 1903 and the second state examination in 1908, he became an assessor at the Higher Regional Court in Poznan . In 1909 he was in Greifswald to Dr. iur. PhD . He took part in the First World War from 1914 to 1918, most recently as a lieutenant . He was a lawyer and notary in Strasbourg until 1920 , then in Deutsch Krone until 1921 and in Schneidemühl until 1945 . He was a Freemason in Strasbourg and Schneidemühl .
From 1909 to 1918 he belonged to the National Liberal Party (NLP), from 1918 to 1932 to the German Democratic Party (DDP) / German State Party (DStP) and was a city councilor in Strasbourg from 1910 to 1920 and in Schneidemühl from 1926 to 1933. The NSDAP he did not rule per se, but was a member of the National Socialist Rechtswahrerbund (NSRB). In 1945 he fled to Erfurt, was accepted into the judicial service and became a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD). In 1945 he became chief judge at the regional court in Erfurt . In the following years he was a city councilor and honorary city councilor in Erfurt, as well as first deputy chairman of the LDPD city association Erfurt. In 1947 he became a member of the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) and the Society for German-Soviet Friendship (DSF). In 1947 he became chief judge and presiding judge at the Chamber of Commerce, in 1949 presiding judge at the Grand Criminal Chamber and in 1950 at the Second Civil Chamber. From 1949 to 1950 he was a member of the Thuringian state parliament . Since the SED had repeatedly given the SED negative ideological feedback, he was dismissed from the judicial service in 1952 and his application for re-admission as a lawyer in 1953 was rejected. So he became a consultant in real estate and rental matters.
