Adolf Ziegler (born June 27, 1890 in Lichtensteig , canton St. Gallen ; † February 22, 1985 in Pully , canton Vaud , reformed , resident in Zuchwil , canton Solothurn ) was a Swiss federal judge .

Life

Family and education

Born in St. Gall Lichtensteig and raised Adolf Ziegler, son of the pharmacist Wilhelm Emil Otto Ziegler and his wife Louise Elisabeth Karoline born Fäsy, 1910 obtained the baccalaureate at the high school department of Thurgau cantonal school in Frauenfeld . Ziegler then turned to studying law at the Universities of Bern , Leipzig , Berlin and Heidelberg , and in 1913 he obtained the academic degree of Dr. iur. After completing a legal internship, he passed the state examination.

Adolf Ziegler married Henriette Melanie, born Braillard, in 1922. He died in Pully in 1985 at the age of 94.

Professional background

At the beginning of his professional career, Adolf Ziegler worked as a lawyer in St. Gallen , in 1918 he took on the position of extraordinary substitute for the council clerk and legal consultant of the St. Gallen city ​​council , in 1920 he was appointed federal court secretary and in 1925 federal court clerk . In 1938 he was elected federal judge on the proposal of the radical parliamentary group.
