Adolph Anton von Gemmingen

Adolph Anton Maria Weiprecht von Gemmingen (born September 8, 1886 in Leutershausen ; † October 5, 1963 in Heidelberg-Schlierbach ) was the landlord in Treschklingen , Hoffenheim and Franconian Crumbach , as well as the Grand Ducal Hessian court junior and later district administrator in Dieburg .

Life

He was the son of Gustav Weiprecht von Gemmingen (1849-1897) and Countess Viktoria von Wiser (1854-1914), attended the Julianum in Würzburg and then until 1905 the Rhenish Knight Academy . He studied law in Göttingen , Strasbourg , Gießen and Freiburg i.Ue. , where he became a member of the student association Die Rodensteiner . After the first state examination , he went to the First World War , where he was last lieutenant in the 1st Hessian Guard Infantry Regiment in Russia . In 1919 he entered the Hessian civil service again. Most recently he was district director in Bingen from 1929 to 1933 and from 1945 to 1946 the Americans appointed district administrator in Dieburg .

After the early death of his father in 1902 he inherited the property of his grandfather Adolph von Gemmingen (1822–1902).

From 1918 Adolph Anton von Gemmingen was married to Maria Freiin von Nordeck zur Rabenau (1890–1988). The marriage had the three children Annemarie (1921–?), Eugen Theodor Karl Friedrich Maria (1923–1997) and Gustav Weiprecht Maria (1925–2005).

In honor of the re-establishment of the Odenwald Club by Adolph Freiherr von Gemmingen-Hornberg in 1946, one year after his death, in 1964, the refuge built by the OWK local group Crumbach at the foot of the Nonroder Höh 'near Crumbach was named Baronsruhe.
