The Africa Cup of Women 2020 ( English 2020 Total Women's Africa Cup of Nations , French Coupe Coupe d'Afrique des Nations Féminine Total 2020 ) should be the 12th playout of the African continental championship in women's football and should take place from November 28th to December 12th 2020 in Tunisia . The defending champion is Nigeria .

For the first time, twelve instead of the previous eight nations will take part in the tournament.

The Republic of the Congo was announced as the host in September 2018. She resigned from hosting in July 2019. At the beginning of December 2019, Tunisia was named as the new host.

At the end of June 2020, the tournament was canceled without replacement due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
