Agnes Simon (born September 23, 1974 in Cluj-Napoca , Romania ) is a Hungarian biathlete and cross-country skier . She also started orienteering .

Agnes Simon lives in Eger and trains in Bartakovics . She started for the Gyvsc ski club and is trained by János Édes. The Hungarian only started biathlon in 2003 at the age of 28 and has been a member of the Hungarian national team since 2005. She ran her first race in the European Biathlon Cup in 2003 in Ridanna and was 49th in the sprint. Only a few more races followed in the second highest racing series in the international biathlon until 2004. She achieved her best result in 2004 in her last race in Obertilliach as 34th in a sprint. Simon did not run the next international races until 2009 in cross-country skiing. There she started in lower-class races such as the Alpine Cup , the Balkan Cup or FIS races . In Osrblie , Simon took part in a major event for the first time as part of the 2010 Summer Biathlon European Championships . With Ildikó Papp , Károly Gombos and Daniel Pelyhe she took eighth place as the starting runner of the Hungarian relay. With five penalty loops, she blocked the Hungarian team a better position from the start.

In cross-country skiing, Simon has mainly participated in the Continental Cup races since 2009 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , she finished 78th in the sprint and 67th place over 10 km classic. The 84th place in the sprint was her best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme . She ran her first cross-country skiing world cup race in January 2014 in Nove Mesto , which she finished in 69th place in the sprint. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she finished 69th over 10 km classic and 66th place in sprint. The following year she took 69th place in the sprint at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , she achieved 89th place in the sprint.
