Ahrensmoor-West
Ahrensmoor-West ( Low German Ohrensmoor-West ) is a district of the village of Ahrensmoor in the municipality of Ahlerstedt in the district of Stade .
history
Ahrensmoor was founded in 1803 as a bog colony . Twelve of the twenty-two settler sites were on the west side. Ahrensmoor-West and Ahrensmoor-Ost were separated by Büttmoor and Schülermoor; only a dilapidated path, the Schuldamm, connected the two places. In earlier times this route, which connected Hamburg and Bremen , was regularly in such a bad condition that it was partially impassable. Due to disputes between Ahrenswohlde and Klethen over who was responsible for the path, a settlement was built here to maintain the path.
In 1817 the first school for Ahrensmoor was opened in Ahrensmoor-West.
In the course of the municipality reform in 1972, Ahrensmoor was incorporated into Ahlerstedt on July 1, 1972.
