history
Ahrensmoor was founded in 1803 as a bog colony . The reason for this were disputes between Ahrenswohlde and Klethen about who was responsible for maintaining the Aue crossing on the route between Hamburg and Bremen (today's Ahlerstedter / Klethener Weg). Ten of the twenty-two settler sites were on the east side; Ahrensmoor west and east were separated by two moors and only connected to one another via the dilapidated school dam.
All public facilities have always been in Ahrensmoor-West, for example the fire brigade, the elementary school and the cemetery.
As part of the community reform , Ahrensmoor was incorporated into Ahlerstedt on July 1, 1972.
From the 1960s onwards, several housing developments were built in Ahrensmoor-Ost.
religion
Ahrensmoor-Ost is evangelical-Lutheran and belongs to the parish of the church Ahlerstedt .
