plant

Vallik made his debut in book form in 1990 in a cassette “Young Authors” together with Liisi Ojamaa , Triin Soomets , Ruth Jyrjo and Elo Viiding . A review said that “three representatives of their generation and two confident authors” would be presented. The new sovereign voices referred to Elo Viiding and Triin Soomets, which later actually became a fixture in contemporary Estonian poetry. Vallik's poems were judged more cautiously because, according to one critic, they were “limited to their circles, their world” and not “penetrate deep.” Later, a critic compared them to the Finnish writer Anja Snellman .

The author achieved her greatest success with the youth book series How are you, Ann? and its two sequels, some of which have been translated into Finnish , Latvian and Lithuanian . One critic compared Vallik to the British children's author Melvin Burgess .
