history
According to tradition, Sturmius (after 700-779), first abbot of the Fulda monastery , comes from an Aiglsdorf landlord family . The same applies to his nephew Abbot Eigil von Fulda (750–822). The Catholic branch church St. Jakob is a neo-Gothic hall with a retracted polygonal choir, west tower and attached sacristy from the years 1875/80. It is a listed building (file no. D-1-78-144-24). In 1818, the Figlsdorf rural community was founded with the municipal edict . In addition to the main town and Aiglsdorf, it also included Brudersdorf, Höllbauer, Holzen, Kitzberg, Kleinwolfersdorf, Meilendorf (formerly Mailendorf), Riedglas, Riedhof, Wadensdorf (formerly: Watterstorf) and Weihersdorf. With the municipal reform , the municipality of Figlsdorf and with it Aiglsdorf on January 1, 1972, became part of the municipality of Nandlstadt .
