Air Macau ( Chinese 澳門 航空 , Pinyin Àomén Hángkōng ) is an airline based in the Macau Special Administrative Region of China and based at Macau Airport .
history
Air Macau was founded on September 13, 1994 and took off on November 9, 1995 with a flight from Macau to Beijing and Shanghai . In 2013 the airline employed 1,163 people. Air Macau is owned by CNAC (80.8%), the local tourism company STDM (14%), TAP Portugal (0.1%) and other shareholders (5.1%). The shares in TAP, which originally stood at 25%, and EVA Air , which has now reached 5%, were almost entirely taken over by CNAC in 2009 as part of restructuring measures.
Destinations
Air Macau has served more than 30 destinations since 2019, 20 of them in mainland China , the rest in Taiwan and Southeast Asia . In 1999, Air Macau generated around 80% of its sales with 1.1 million passengers on Formosa Street.
