Aitarak ( German Dorn ) is a district of the East Timorese capital Dili .
geography
Aitarak is located in the northwest of the Sucos Motael on the coast of the Bay of Dili . To the east of Rua dos Direitos Humanos is the Palapaso district , to the southeast Farol and south to Bebora . The Maloa River flows along the western border to Suco Kampung Alor , but it only carries water during the rainy season. The Avenida de Portugal runs along the coast .

The Brazilian , Indonesian and Filipino embassies are located in Aitarak .
Between the Avenida de Portugal and the Travessa Sérgio Vieira de Mello in the south, near the Motael lighthouse, the Jardim Farol is located , which is used for traditional religious ceremonies. In 2019, an ai to'os was set here to protect the country. The Canto Resende Memorial, erected here in 1952, commemorates the Portuguese Artur do Canto Resende , who died in a Japanese internment camp in 1944 .
