Weickersing is a part of the municipality of Samerberg in the district of Rosenheim , administrative district of Upper Bavaria .

Geographical location

The municipal parts of Samerberg are spatially scattered east of the Inn on a hilly plateau about seven kilometers long at an altitude of about 600 to 750 m above sea level. NHN between Nussdorf in the Inntal in the southwest and Frasdorf on the A8 Munich - Salzburg motorway in the northeast. The hamlet of Weickersing is located on the western edge of the Samerberg residential area and is grouped around a dead end street about one kilometer southwest of the village center of Törwang .

history

The hamlet of Weickersing, which formerly belonged to the municipality of Törwang and was the residence of a ministerial family in the 12th century , has been mentioned in documents since 1120 under names such as Wihecozzingen, Wihegozzingen, Wicozzingen and Wiegozingen . Weickersing is called Wihcozinge in a Latin deed of donation from the provost of Berchtesgaden from the 12th century . At the beginning of the 19th century the place name Weigersing was in use. Towards the end of the first quarter of the 19th century, the current place name was used, but towards the end of the third quarter the place name Weikersing was used .

Weickersing has always remained an agricultural village. A dairy farmer has his homestead and stables right at the entrance to the village. There are no shopping opportunities in retail stores in the hamlet.

In 1969, a referendum was carried out in Steinkirchen , Roßholzen , Grainbach and Törwang to decide whether the four previously independent communities should be merged into a single community with an administrative seat in Törwang. 88% of the voters decided in favor of this project, and on January 1, 1970, the new municipality of Samerberg was formed by merging Roßholzen, Grainbach, Steinkirchen and Törwang. Since then, Törwang and its district Weickersing have been part of the municipality of Samerberg.

The hamlet of Weickersing near Törwang is located near a country road that leads from Achenmühle in the north via Törwang and Roßholzen south into the Inn Valley . The place, which is on a dead end, can only be reached via the road network from Törwang. Because the cul-de-sac ends in Weickersing, there is no through traffic in the hamlet.

  • Recreation area Samerberg, the extensive network of hiking trails of the Samerberg can be reached in a short time via hiking and field paths with moderate inclines.
