Normal way | Grainbach - Hochries |
The Hochries is a 1569 m above sea level. NN high mountain on the northern edge of the western Chiemgau Alps .
From the managed Hochrieshütte it offers an excellent panoramic view over the district of Rosenheim , the Simssee and the Chiemsee , the Inn Valley and the surrounding mountains (Kaiser Mountains, eastern Mangfall Mountains) to the Großglockner and the glaciers of the Central Alps.
The summit can be reached by train from Grainbach. A chairlift goes from the village to the middle station at an altitude of 920 m. From there a cable car leads to the summit. As Rosenheim's “local mountain”, the Hochries is popular with hikers as well as paragliders and hang-gliders in particular .
People familiar with the area can be recognized by the fact that they emphasize the name of the mountain on the second syllable.
Hochries transmitter
There is a Deutsche Telekom transmitter on the mountain.
