The Hochrieshütte (also called Hochrieshaus ) is an Alpine Club hut in the Rosenheim section of the German Alpine Club , at 1569  m above sea level. NHN height on the summit of the Hochries . It is located in the Chiemgau Alps at the meeting point of the municipal boundaries and Frasdorf , Samerberg and Aschau im Chiemgau in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim .

Location and use

The Hochrieshütte is a well-known and popular excursion destination not far from the state border with Tyrol in a panoramic position with a wide view of the foothills of the Alps and the Kaiser Mountains . The shelter is open almost all year round and offers a welcome rest in every season, in summer on a mountain hike and in winter on a ski tour . The Hochries is because of to the summit leading Hochriesbahn effortlessly accessible and popular with hikers and paragliders.

The cable car was extensively renovated in the first quarter of 2019. Currently (1st quarter of 2020) the carrying technology and the cabins are being renovated and modernized. Regulated rail operations are expected to be possible again from May 2020. [outdated]

Incidentally, the Hochrieshütte is an important base on larger tours through the Chiemgau Alps and on the Königssee-Bodensee long-distance hiking trail, the Maximiliansweg .

Accesses

  • From Grainbach ( 700  m , Hochriesbahn car park) via Moseralm and Seitenalm , easy, walking time: 2½ hours
  • From Sagberg ( 800  m ) near Frasdorf via Frasdorfer Hütte and Riesenhütte, easy, walking time: 3½ hours
  • From Aschau im Chiemgau via Hofalm and Riesenhütte, easy, walking time: 3½ hours
  • From the hiking car park at the Gasthaus Duft (800 m) via Spatenaualm and Seitenalm, easy, walking time: 2½ hours
  • With the Hochriesbahn to the mountain station and from there in 5 minutes to the hut
