Martin Deutinger , from 1837 by Deutinger , (born November 11, 1789 in Wartenberg near Erding, † October 30, 1854 in Munich ) was a Catholic clergyman and Bavarian historian.

biography

After studying theology in Freising and Landshut, Martin Deutinger was ordained a priest in 1813 and, after completing his doctorate in 1814, worked as a registrar and valuer of the archive at the General Vicariate in Freising. From 1821 he was cathedral capitular of the newly established Archdiocese of Munich-Freising . From 1825 the priest held the office of senior church and school council in the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior. In 1836 he was appointed vicar general. On January 1, 1837, King Ludwig I of Bavaria awarded him the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown , combined with the personal title of nobility; in the same year Deutinger was appointed a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . In 1841 the clergyman became provost of the cathedral and in 1846 director of the general spiritual council and the metropolitan court. He died in 1854 of a cholera epidemic that was rampant in Munich .
