Gerstland is part of the municipality of Samerberg in the district of Rosenheim , administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the Roßholzen district .

Geographical location

The municipal parts of Samerberg are spatially scattered east of the Inn on a hilly plateau about seven kilometers long at an altitude of about 600 to 750 m above sea level. NHN between Nussdorf in the Inntal in the southwest and Frasdorf on the A8 Munich - Salzburg motorway in the northeast. The single settlement Gerstland is located on the southern edge of the Samerberg residential area on a hill at the northern foot of the Heuberg at an altitude of 708 m above sea level. NHN on the border with Nussdorf, southwest of Grainbach and east of Nussdorf.

history

Gerstland was a lonely farm for a long time. Today (2020) the single settlement has two residential buildings and a habitable hut.

The place formerly belonged to the political municipality Roßholzen. In 1969, a referendum was carried out in Roßholzen, Grainbach , Steinkirchen and Törwang to decide whether the four previously independent communities should be merged into a single community with an administrative seat in Törwang. 88% of the voters decided in favor of this project, and on January 1, 1970, the new municipality of Samerberg was formed by amalgamating Grainbach, Roßholzen, Steinkirchen and Törwang. Since then, Gerstland has been part of Samerberg's municipality.

traffic

The wasteland of Gerstland is at the end of a paved, winding spur road that branches off the country road that leads from the hamlet of Holzmann past the 'Jägerhäusl' restaurant in a southerly direction to the hamlet of Mühlthal and from there to Nussdorf am Inn. The turn-off, which leads to an elevation below the Heuberg, is located at the position of lying on the road small water power plant with reservoirs . The country road in question to Nussdorf is closed to public motor vehicle traffic after about one kilometer as seen from Holzmann. The cul-de-sac leads past the hamlets of Brennbichl and Gritschen . The distance down the valley to Roßholzen is about five kilometers by road.

Attractions

  • West of Gerstland is the pilgrimage chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary ( late baroque , 1720), which can be reached via a footpath, but does not belong to Samerberg.
  • Hiking trails recommended by the Alpine Association lead via Gerstland to the Heuberg area, to Duft and to Nussdorf am Inn.
