Alaa el-Din Mohamed el-Ashry (born January 6, 1991 ) is an Egyptian hammer thrower .

Athletic career

Alaa el-Ashry gained his first international experience in 2007 at the World Youth Championships in Ostrava , where he took tenth place with the 5 kg hammer with a width of 70.14 m. The following year he retired from the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz with the 6 kg hammer with 69.19 m in qualification and in 2009 he won the Junior African Championships in Bambous with a new championship record of 75.59 m. In 2010 he won the Arab Junior Championships in Cairo with 75.51 m and then won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Moncton with a throw of 76.66 m. In 2010 he reached tenth place at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen with 66.57 m with the regular hammer and then won the silver medal behind Kuwait Ali Mohamed al-Zankawi at the Arab Championships in al-Ain with 69.31 m .

In 2013 he took part again in the Student World Games in Kazan and this time was twelfth with 69.77 m. In 2015 he won the bronze medal at the Arab Championships in Madinat Isa with 72.26 m behind his compatriot Mostafa el-Gamel and Ashraf Amgad el-Seify , who started for Qatar . Four years later he won the silver medal behind Kuwait al-Zankawi at the Arab Championships in Cairo with 72.69 m and then took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time, where he also won the silver medal with 72.04 m, this time behind his compatriot el-Gamel.
