Aladağ (until 1987 Karsantı ) is a town and district of the province of Adana in Turkey . At the end of 2018, 16,653 people lived in the entire district. The district is 1340 km² and is located in the northwest of the province on the border with the provinces of Kayseri and Niğde . 279 km² of the area are used for agriculture. The rest of the largest valley consists of mountains and hills. Aladağ's climate is a mixture of Mediterranean and Central Anatolian climates. The name of the place comes from the Aladağlar Mountains.
Near the village of Eğner is the Armenian Akner Monastery , built in 1198 , which was destroyed during the Hamid massacre of the Armenians in the 1890s.
