Act
Rellay, who worked full-time in the textile industry after studying in Paris, played in Lille between 1965 and 1969 with Didier Levallet and Michel Graillier . From bebop he found a more contemporary jazz and was one of the founders of the Association à la Recherche d'un Folklore Imaginaire (ARFI) in Lyon in 1976 . For over 30 years he was a member of the large formation Marmite Infernale , with whom he recorded five albums and performed at the Moers Festival in 1984 . In the 1980s he also formed a duo with Patrick Vollat ( Reminiscences 1983), from which Christian Rollet formed the group Vollat Trois , which performed at many European festivals. At times he was part of the quintet of Louis Sclavis , on whose album Ad Augusta Per Angustia (1981) he was also involved. According to Tom Lord , up to the year 2000 he took part in 15 recordings in the field of jazz. With the trombonist Jacques Veillé he formed the formation L'Improvisateur et son Double ; La Bête à Bon Dos was created as early as 1978 ; but he also played in other Lyon groups such as Toi Tarzan… Nous aussi and Tragédie au Cirque . Since 1995 he has performed with Lucia Recio in the duo Torero Loco .
