Alamo Heights is a city in Bexar County in the US state of Texas . At the 2010 census , the city had a total population of 7,031 people.

The 2000 census identified 7,319 people, 3,197 households and 1,819 families living in the city. The population density is 1,528 per km². There are 3,460 housing units at an approximate density of 722 per km². The racial breakdown of the urban population is as follows: 93.80% White, 0.56% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.85% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 2.81% other ethnicity and 1.64% belonging to several ethnic groups. 13.55% of the population are Hispanics or Latin Americans of any origin.
There are 3,197 households out of which 28.1% have children under the age of 18, 46.5% are married couples living together, 7.9% have a female head of household without a husband and 43.1% are non-families. 38.3% of all households are managed by individuals and 12.9% have someone 65 or older living alone. The average household has a size of 2.16, the average family 2.91 people.
In the city, 22.3% of the population are under 18, 6.2% between 18 and 24, 29.2% between 24 and 44, 25.1% between 45 and 64, and 17.2% 65 years or older. The average age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 82.5 males. For all women over the age of 18 there are 75.0 men.
The median income for a household in the city is $ 64,688 and that of families is $ 86,897. Males have a median income of $ 60,527 versus $ 37,089 for women. The per capita income for the county is $ 45,640. 3.5% of the population and 1.6% of families live below the poverty line. In relation to the total population, 3.7% of those under 18 and 6.4% of those aged 65 and older live below the poverty line.
