The Taluk Alandur ( Tamil : ஆலந்தூர் வட்டம் ) is a Taluk (sub-district) of the Kanchipuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu . The main town is the eponymous city of Alandur .

The Taluk Alandur is located in the northeast of the Kanchipuram district in the suburbs of the metropolis of Chennai (Madras). It borders on the Taluks Sholinganallur in the southeast, Tambaram in the south and Sriperumbudur in the west and in the northeast on the city district of Chennai. The area of ​​the Taluk Alandur is 45.4 square kilometers.

The Taluk Alandur was created in 2009 when the Taluk Tambaram was divided into the three taluks Tambaram, Sholinganallur and Alandur. As a result of the city expansion of Chennais in 2011, part of the Taluk Alandur including the main town of Alandur was incorporated into the urban area of ​​Chennais.
