Albert Ernst

Albert Ernst (born November 17, 1847 in Görshagen , † January 15, 1917 in Charlottenburg ) was a teacher and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

After the early death of his father Ludwig and the sale of his parents' mill in Marsow, Ernst became a private tutor. From 1867 he attended the Protestant school teacher seminar in Köslin . From 1869 he was a teacher in Belgard and from 1870 to 1875 a teacher at the higher private girls' school of Dr. Wegener in Szczecin . Between 1875 and 1879 he was the royal seminary teacher in Franzburg and from 1879 director of the Empress Auguste Victoria School in Schneidemühl . Since 1892 city councilor, he was also a board member of the Poznan Provincial Teachers' Association and chairman of the Neumärkisch-Poznan District Association of the Society for the Dissemination of Popular Education. He particularly campaigned for the introduction of household lessons for girls and published reading books for girls' and advanced training schools.

From 1898 to 1903 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency district of Bromberg 1 ( Czarnikau , Filehne , Kolmar in Posen ) and the Liberal Association . From 1899 until his death he was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Posen 3 (Samter - Birnbaum - Schwerin i. W.).
