Albert Rödiger

Albert Rödiger (born August 7, 1903 in Seega ; † March 31, 1973 ) was a German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was state chairman of the DBD Thuringia and chairman of the DBD district board in Erfurt .

Life

Rödiger was born into a family of forest workers. Unskilled, like his parents, he worked as a woodcutter, stone carrier and then as a firefighter in Berlin . Rödiger was already politically active before 1933 and a member of the KPD .

After the war ended, Rödiger became a new farmer in 1945 and took an active part in the land reform . He was a co-founder of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB) in Seega. In 1946 he became mayor of Seega for the SED . In 1948 he was one of the founders of the Democratic Peasant Party of Germany (DBD), which he then represented in the district council. From 1951 to 1952 he was chairman of the DBD regional board of Thuringia and from 1952 to 1965 first chairman of the DBD district board of Erfurt. From 1951 to 1973 he was also a member of the party executive committee of the DBD.

From 1954 to 1973 he was a member of the Erfurt District Assembly. From 1954 to 1958 he was also a member of the regional chamber and its vice-president.
