Albert Schedl

Albert Schedl (born August 25, 1936 in Regensburg ; † November 17, 2009 in Bonn - Bad Godesberg ) was a German politician ( CSU ) and a member of the German Bundestag .

Life and work

Albert Schedl attended grammar school and graduated from secondary school in 1953 . He learned the trade of carpenter from 1953 to 1955 . In 1958/59 he attended the Werkkunstschule in Düsseldorf as a part-time job and passed the master's examination in 1960 . As a foreman, he was managing director of a planning group for construction projects until October 1974. He later became chairman of the Lappersdorf trade association . He is a nephew of the former Bavarian State Minister Otto Schedl .

politics

Schedl joined the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) in 1956 and was elected chairman of the CSU district association Regensburg-Stadt in 1968. He was also the deputy chairman of the CSU district association in Upper Palatinate .

He was a member of the German Bundestag from January 7, 1971, when he replaced the deceased MP Franz Xaver Unertl , until 1980. He first moved into parliament via the Bavarian State List and represented the Regensburg constituency there from 1976 to 1980 . In the Bundestag he was a member of the Committee for Economic Cooperation (1971 to 1976) and the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs (1976 to 1980).

In 2005 Schedl, who has meanwhile worked as a lobbyist for ThyssenKrupp , hit the headlines for allegedly bribing members of the Bundestag.
