politics

Schlee had joined the CSU in 1946, shortly after the end of the Second World War, for which he was active in the district assembly of Upper Franconia. In the Bundestag election in 1957 , he was directly elected to parliament in the Bayreuth constituency, to which he belonged for this legislative period until 1961. In the 1961 federal election he was unable to repeat this success and therefore left parliament. It was not until February 15, 1963 that he moved up to the Bundestag via the Bavarian state list for the resigned MP Hans Schütz . In the following two federal elections in 1965 and 1969, he was re-elected directly to the Bundestag in the Bayreuth constituency. While in his first term of office he was still a full member of the Legal Affairs Committee , the Committee on War Victims and Homecoming Issues and the Finance Committee, he was only a full member of the Finance Committee in his second and third electoral terms . In his last term of office he was only a deputy member of the finance committee, but then a full member of the committee for electoral review, immunity and rules of procedure, as well as the electoral review committee. In his first electoral term he was a deputy member of the Budget Committee and the Foreign Trade Committee until July 1959, and in his third term he was also a deputy member of the Defense Committee.

Schlee was the representative for Upper Franconia of the mutual aid community of the members of the former Waffen SS and in 1965 demanded a change in the traditional decree to enable relations between the Bundeswehr and former members of the Waffen SS .
