Aldo Lazzarín Stella

Aldo Maria Lazzarín Stella OSM (born December 13, 1926 in Selvi, Volpago del Montello , Veneto , Italy , † October 16, 2010 in Negrar , Veneto, Italy) was a Roman Catholic religious and apostolic vicar of Aysén .

Life

Lazzarín Stella joined the religious order of the Missionary Order of the Servites and studied at the Pontifical Theological Faculty Marianum in Rome, the order's own theological college of the Servites. On 8 April 1950 he received in the Lateran Basilica by Archbishop Luigi Traglia the priesthood . He was Superior General of the Servites from 1965 to 1976. From 1976 to 1982 he was Provincial of his order in Chile and Bolivia and from 1982 to 1989 in Argentina.

In 1989 he was appointed Titular Bishop of Tigisi in Numidia by Pope John Paul II and appointed Vicar Apostolic of the Vicariate Apostolic Aysén in Chile . He was ordained bishop on August 13, 1989 by the Archbishop of Puerto Montt, Savino Cazzaro Bertollo OSM; Co- consecrators were Carlos González Cruchaga , Bishop of Talca, and Sergio Otoniel Contreras Navia , Bishop of Temuco. His motto was Respice Stellam .

His resignation was granted in 1998 by Pope John Paul II.
