Aleksandar Panew ( Bulgarian Александър Панев ; born November 19, 1970 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey player who last played until 2014 for HK CSKA Sofia in the Bulgarian ice hockey league.

Career

Aleksandar Panew began his career as a hockey player in his hometown Sofia with HK Levski Sofia , for whom he played in the Bulgarian ice hockey league until 2004 and was Bulgarian champion in his last season there . He then stood on the ice at HK Slavia Sofia until 2009 , with whom he won the title in 2005, 2008 and 2009 and was also a cup winner in 2008 and 2009 . Most recently he played for HK CSKA Sofia , with whom he also won the championship and cup double in 2013 and 2014.

International

With the Bulgarian national team , Panew first took part in the C World Championships in 1991 , when he was promoted to the B group with his team, and in 1994 and after the changeover to the current division system at the World Championships of Division II in 2001 , 2003 and 2009 as well as the Division III in 2014 , when the Bulgarians were promoted to Division II again.

In 2008 he also looked after both the Bulgarian U18 team and the U20 team at their Division III world championships as an assistant coach.
