Aleksander Polaczek (born August 9, 1980 in Opole , Poland ) is a former German ice hockey player of Polish origin. During his playing career he played 833 games in the German Ice Hockey League and 33 international matches.
Career
He spent his time as a young player at ESV Pinguine Königsbrunn and Augsburger EV . Polaczek first played in 1999 in the major league at EC Atlantis Ulm / Neu-Ulm . Since the club had to stop playing after the 1999/00 season due to financial problems, the center moved within the league to ESV Bayreuth , whose main squad included the left-handed shooter. Polaczek scored 26 points in 41 games and finally decided in summer 2001 to join REV Bremerhaven , with whom he was henceforth active in the 2nd Bundesliga .
The attacker also performed well in Bremerhaven and thus attracted the interest of some DEL scouts , whereupon he finally signed a two-year contract with ERC Ingolstadt . The native of Upper Silesia could not prevail there and only scored 21 points in 116 DEL games. Then Polaczek was transferred to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in Nuremberg for the 2005/06 season , with whom he was able to celebrate the German runner- up in the second season together . In the final his team lost 3-0 against Adler Mannheim . In 2008 Polaczek was banned for three months for several violations of the reporting requirements of the National Anti-Doping Agency .
Polaczek signed a contract with the Frankfurt Lions on March 24, 2009 , where he played with Michel Périard , who had also moved to Frankfurt. In the course of the blocking of the shirt number 80 by the DEL because of the death of Robert Müller , Polaczek renounced the number that he had always worn until then. He now plays with the shirt number 15.
In the summer of 2010 he initially received a trial contract with the Hamburg Freezers , which was finally extended to the end of the 2011/2012 season. In April 2012 Polaczek signed a contract for two seasons with league rivals Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg . Until 2015, he stayed with the Lower Saxony and then played for three years in Augsburg . After the end of the 2017/18 season, he announced the end of his playing career. In his career he brought a total of 833 DEL games with 106 goals and 120 assists. On December 13, 2018, Aleksander Polaczek signed a contract until the end of the season with Bayernliga promoted EHC Königsbrunn until the end of the season.
International
In 2007, Aleksander Polaczek was part of the German national ice hockey team for the first time . With the DEB selection, he took part in the 2007 World Cup in Russia . He played 33 full internationals.
Inline hockey
In addition to his work as a professional ice hockey player, Polaczek plays for the German national inline hockey team , with which he took part in the 2006 inline hockey world championship in Hungary .
