Michel Périard (born November 10, 1979 in Saint-Constant , Québec ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
The 1.80 m tall defender began his junior career in the QMJHL with the Cataractes de Shawinigan and L'Océanic de Rimouski , before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft as 188th in the seventh round by the Ottawa Senators .
The left-handed shooter was never used in the National Hockey League , but only played games with various farm teams in the United Hockey League , the American Hockey League , the East Coast Hockey League and the Central Hockey League .
Before the 2005/06 season , Périard moved from the Portland Pirates from the AHL to the DEL to the Ice Tigers, where he was able to achieve five goals and twelve assists in his first season in 51 games . In the 2006/07 season he reached the play-off final with the Ice Tigers , which was lost to Adler Mannheim . After four years in Nuremberg, he left Franconia and moved with his teammate Aleksander Polaczek to the Frankfurt Lions , with whom he signed a contract for the coming season on March 24, 2009. In July 2010, following the dissolution of the Frankfurt Lions, he moved to the Adler Mannheim, and a year later to ERC Ingolstadt , with whom he surprisingly became German champion in 2014. At the beginning of the 2015/2016 season he moved to league competitor Iserlohn Roosters . In February 2016 he extended his contract there for another season.
In October 2015, he took on German citizenship.
