Aleksis Kivi Prize

The Aleksis Kivi Prize ( Finnish Aleksis Kiven palkinto ) is a Finnish literary prize. It has been awarded by the Finnish Literature Society (Suomalaisen Kirjallisuuden Seura) since 1936 . The Aleksis Kivi Prize honors a Finnish-speaking writer for his life's work.

The prize was awarded annually until 1968, then every two years until 1978, and every three years from 1978 to 2012. It is currently endowed with 15,000 euros. The award is named after the Finnish writer Aleksis Kivi (1834–1872).
