Alen Sasseiev

Alen Taimurasowitsch Sassejew ( Russian Ален Таймуразович Засеев ; * October 10, 1988 ) is a Ukrainian wrestler of Ossetian origin. In 2013 he was Vice European Champion and Vice World Champion in free style in the heavyweight division .

Career

Alen Sassejew began wrestling as a teenager in 1997 in his native North Ossetia. He concentrated on the free style. He developed into an excellent wrestler as a junior. He was or is trained by Ruslan Sawlochow, Ruslan Rubayev and Vladimir Burayev. He is a student, but lives from wrestling. At a height of 1.89 meters, he started in the light heavyweight division for a long time , but switched to the heavyweight division at the end of 2012 .

As a junior he was, still starting for Russia, in 2005 in Tirana Junior European Champion (Cadets) in the weight class up to 100 kg. In 2007 he was in Beijing behind Valeri Andriizew, Ukraine, junior vice world champion in light heavyweight and in 2008 in Istanbul junior world champion in light heavyweight in front of Shamil Dibirow, Ukraine and Komeil Ghasemi, Iran.

In 2009, as a senior at the most important Russian wrestling tournament, the "Iwan-Yarigin" Golden Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk , he immediately took an excellent 2nd place behind Georgi Ketojew , Russia. In the course of 2009, however, there were differences between him and the Russian Wrestling Association, which led to his being suspended for two years and moving to Ukraine after the suspension ended.

His first start for Ukraine at an international championship was then the same at the 2011 World Cup in Istanbul. He was defeated there but in the light heavyweight division of the Azerbaijanist Chetag Gasjumow . Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came in 34th place.

In 2012 Alen Sassejew only narrowly missed the qualification for the Olympic Games in London at a tournament in Sofia with a 3rd place behind Abdussalam Gadissow , Russia and Georgi Gogschelidze , Georgia. A 2nd place would have been enough for the qualification.

At the end of 2012 he decided to switch from light heavy to heavy weight in order to avoid the constant exhausting workout. A measure that quickly paid off, as he was immediately one of the top Ukrainian wrestlers in this new weight class. In an international tournament in Kiev in February 2013, he won ahead of his main Ukrainian competitor Oleksandr Chozjaniwskyj and the 2012 Olympic third-party Dawit Modsmanashvili , Georgia, and was then nominated for the 2013 European champions in Tbilisi. In Tbilisi he defeated Alexander Romanow, Moldova, Nick Matuhin , Germany and Geno Petriaschwili , Georgia and was in the final against Taha Akgül from Turkey, against whom he lost just on points. He became vice European champion. Alen Sassejew was also able to convince at the 2013 World Cup in Budapest. There he defeated Florian Skilang Temengil, PLW, Taha Akgül, Jamaladdin Magomedow , Azerbaijan and Tervel Dlagnev , United States and was in the final against Chadschimurad Gazalow from Russia, against whom he had no chance and lost prematurely. He became vice world champion.
