Alex Boisvert-Lacroix (born April 8, 1987 in Sherbrooke ) is a Canadian speed skater and former short tracker .

Career

Boisvert-Lacroix began his career as a short tracker. He started four times in the Short Track World Cup and reached his only World Cup podiums in the 2007/08 season with third place in Harbin . He made his debut in the Speed ​​Skating World Cup in January 2012 in Salt Lake City . There he took seventh and third place in the B World Cup over 500 m. The following month he won the 500m silver medal at the North American Championships in Calgary . He achieved his first top ten placements in the A World Cup at the beginning of the 2012/13 season in Heerenveen with tenth and ninth places over 500 m. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he achieved his first podium in the A World Cup with third place over 500 m in Calgary. In the further course of the season he came twice in third and once in second place. In January 2016, he became the Canadian champion in the 2 × 500 m run.
