Alex Funke
Alex Funke (born October 12, 1944 in Santa Barbara , California , USA ) is an American special effects artist .
Life
Alex Funke initially studied biochemistry for a few years , but then moved to UCLA Film School in the early 1960s. He then worked with Charles and Ray Eames for eleven years . Probably the best-known project from this period is the short film Ten High . Then he was involved in the creation of miniature images at Kampfstern Galactica . As of 2001, he made primarily for his involvement in the Lord of the Rings - Trilogy attracted attention to him including two Oscars in the category Best Visual Effects earned.
In addition to his actual work in film productions, Funke also worked as a lecturer at UCLA and Loyola Marymount University and gave guest lectures in Italy and Norway.
Alex Funke is married and has five children.
