Alexander Alexandrowitsch Smyschljajew ( Russian Александр Александрович Смышляев ; born March 16, 1987 in Lyswa ) is a Russian freestyle skier . He's on the moguls specialized disciplines, contained moguls and dual moguls.

biography

Smyschljajew made his debut in the World Cup on February 18, 2005 and was 33rd in Sauze d'Oulx . He won his first World Cup points eight days later with 10th place in Voss . He qualified for the 2006 Winter Olympics , where he finished thirteenth. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 and 2007, two fifth places were his best results. His first podium finish in the World Cup was on January 31, 2009 in Deer Valley , followed by winning his first Russian championship title in the same season.

In the winter of 2009/10, Smyschljajew moved closer to the top of the world with two third places in the World Cup and a tenth place at the 2010 Winter Olympics . In the 2010/11 season , a third place in the World Cup and a fifth place in the 2011 World Cup were the best results, while he did not get past a 12th place in the 2011/12 season . In the 2012/13 World Cup winter he achieved his best placement when he finished second in Calgary . After another third place during the 2013/14 season , he won the bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . On March 15, 2014, Smyschljajew achieved the only World Cup victory so far in Voss .

In the 2014/15 World Cup , Smyshlyaev stood on the podium four times. At the 2015 World Cup , he won the bronze medal in the Mughal competition. In winter 2015/16 he achieved four top 10 results in the World Cup. On the other hand, he had to take a break for the entire 2016/17 season due to an injury.
