Alexander Fechner

Alexander Fechner (born November 24, 1977 in Cuxhaven ) is a German comic author , illustrator and advertiser .

Career

Fechner grew up in Kaarst and later in Wiesbaden . In 1998 he began training as a media designer and until 2001 took several graphic courses at the Darmstadt study group and at the Gutenberg School of Design in Frankfurt . He then worked for various both German and international advertising agencies such as Publicis or Saatchi & Saatchi , before going self-employed in 2007. Between 2012 and 2014, Fechner was ultimately responsible as editor for the German-language edition of DJ Magazine . In the same period, he also worked as managing director of the Frankfurt publisher Boom Bang Publishing before full-time as 2015 artistic director returned to the advertising industry.

Together with the Cologne comic artist Miguel "Millus" Riveros, Fechner participated in the horror comic series Unheimlich from 2006 to 2010 , a homage to the writer HP Lovecraft . Up to and including 2012 he also published numerous articles for the comic anthology Panik Elektro , the role-playing game Endland , the literary magazine Ferne Welten , the magazine Toxic Sushi and other publications. He also designed numerous album covers for bands such as Pur , Time Lost , Puyo Puyo and the musician Plemo . In addition, from 2017 to 2018 he was a member of the artist group around the Frankfurt graphic designer Claudio "Fink" Gomez, who died in 2019, and his gallery This Is Not A Ticket Shop .

Fechner has been working with Offenbach-based concept creator Eva Junker since 2010 on the fantasy comic project Unison , which was presented at the International Comic Salon in Erlangen in 2012 . The comic adaptation of Yazid Benfeghoul's film Sky Sharks , for which both were responsible, should also appear in 2019 . However, the publication was discarded.
