After his active career, he made both a coach and referee training and initially worked as a representative for computer paper. Alex Kamianecky has meanwhile started his own business and is currently living in Canoas ( RS ) where he also works as a talent scout.

In 2017 the author Sílvio Köhler published the book dedicated to him, Alex Coração Americano: o campeão do jogo limpo ("Alex the Heart of America: Master of the Clean Game"). At the launch in Rio, the 1970 world champion Jairzinho , the world star Zico and numerous illustrious figures from American history such as Edu Coimbra were present. "For me, there is America before and after Alex," noted the author. "He is a reference point as a player, an example as a defender and the honesty towards the club."

Alex commented on the occasion: "I am very grateful to the fans of America for their appreciation. I am sure that during this time they have done more for me than I did for them. These are moments that I will remember forever like winning the Taça Guanabara in 1974, when we had the best team and deserved to be champions. The Belfort Duarte Prize was also a very special moment. "
