Alexander Wladimirowitsch Tretyakov ( Russian Александр Владимирович Третьяков ; born October 1, 1972 in Perm ) is a former Russian wrestler in the Greco-Roman style. In his international career, which spanned from 1992 to 1999, he was twice European champion and 1998 world champion.

In 1996 Tretyakov competed at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta , he won after an 8-0 defeat by Ghani Yalouz and six victories in a row over Rustam Aji , Ukraine (3-1), Valeri Nikitin , Estonia (4-0) and Kamandar Majidow , Belarus (4-0) the bronze medal.

At the European Championships in 1997 in Kouvola , he defeated all of his opponents, including Ender Memet , Adam Juretzko (4: 0) and Georgi Dschinwelaschwili (13: 3) from Georgia and thus became European champion. At the world championship in the same year he had to let the South Korean Son Sang-pil go ahead with 1: 6 after victories over Valeri Nikitin (3: 0), Roustam Adzhi (2: 0) and Bisser Georgiev from Bulgaria (3: 1) .

In 1998 he was back on the wrestling mat at the World Championships in Gävle ; after becoming European champion in the same year, he has now become world champion. He defeated Rustam Adschi, Valeri Nikitin, Vitaly Zhuk from Belarus, Bisser Georgiev and Csaba Hirbik in the final .

At the end of his international career, he traveled to Athens to attend the World Championships . He defeated the Olympic champion Ryszard Wolny 1-0. Furthermore, he won against the Swedes Mattias Schoberg, Peter Bielesz from the Czech Republic, Ghani Yalouz and Wladimir Kopytow and had to admit defeat 0: 4 in the final Son Sang-pil.

He always competed in the Greco-Roman style in the class up to 68, later up to 69 kilograms.
