Alexander von Rössing

Alexander Ernst August Thomas Freiherr von Rössing (born September 25, 1818 in Osnabrück , † November 1, 1906 in Hanover ) was a landowner, district administrator and member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation .

Life

Alexander von Rössing studied law at the University of Göttingen and became a member of the Corps Lunaburgia in 1838 . At the age of 27, he took over his late father's estate in Rössing , but Rössing continued his career as a lawyer, serving as a senior judge in 1852 and becoming a public prosecutor in 1855. He was also district and treasurer in Hanover from 1859 to 1866 and held numerous other offices. From 1862 to 1866 he was the President of the German Reform Association in the Kingdom of Hanover , from 1856 to 1866 a member of the Hanoverian parliament and from 1867 to 1890 in the Hanoverian provincial parliament.

In 1867 he was a member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency of Hanover 9 ( Hameln , Linden , Springe ) and the federal constitutional association .
