Alexandra Caró (born December 8, 1985 in Rum , Tyrol ) is an Austrian singer and songwriter .

Life

Caró began her classical piano training at the Innsbruck Music School at the age of five . During her school days at the Akademisches Gymnasium Innsbruck she composed her first songs at the age of 13. After graduating from high school in June 2004, Alexandra Caró lived in London for a year . In 2005 she began studying international business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Vienna .

Career

The then 15-year-old met New York City- based jazz trumpeter Franz Hackl , who became her mentor and influenced her musical career. From 2002, she took part in the Outreach Academy in Schwaz / Tyrol under the direction of Franz Hackl . With a performance with “Sound Liberation” from New York City in August 2005 and her own solo program, she made the leap to the “Outreach Festival & Academy” stage.

In 2008 Caró was discovered by producer Christian Kolonovits , who signed her to his label Homebase Records. He produced her first album "Diary". The debut single "Listen to your inside", released in July 2010, met with a positive response from radio stations and listeners. The single was in the Ö3 listener charts for months, made it onto the Ö3 Greatest Hits (Vol. 52) and was one of the most played songs in Austria in 2010.

Appearances

  • Austrian Cultural Forum , London, October 2010: Alexandra Caró's performance together with British songwriter Jon Allen took place as part of “Sound Park Austria” in London - a program of the Austrian Cultural Forum, whose aim is to bring Austrian and British songwriters together. The jointly written song called "Here tonight" was released by Jon Allen on his CD "Sweet Defeat" (2011).
  • “Franz Hackl & Friends, Voices”, Innsbruck , August 2011: In 2010, Franz Hackl initiated the “Franz Hackl & Friends” concert series. In 2010, as a benefit concert for Haiti, in 2011 he invited three female singers to the stage. In Israel and Vienna living Timna Brauer that living in New York City Chanda Rule and Alexandra Caró presented with selected musicians (like Franz Hackl, Adam Holzman , Michael Wolff , Elias Meiri , and many others) their songs
  • Outreach Festival & Academy 2014, Schwaz , August 2014: Alexandra Caró presents her songs, arranged and edited by outreach musicians. On stage with Michael Wolff , Franz Hackl and others.
