Alexandra Keil , after marriage to Alexandra Arbon (born February 10, 1978 in Lich ), is a German national basketball player .

Study and job

Keil graduated from the Theo Koch School in Grünberg , then studied business administration and completed a Master of Arts in International Marketing at the Giessen-Friedberg University of Applied Sciences . The graduate in business administration worked, among others, at Stadtwerke Marburg and Nokia in Helsinki and is now employed by a pharmaceutical company.

Basketball career

At the age of seven, Keil began playing basketball at TSV Grünberg and became a youth national player in 1993. In 1996 she moved to North Stafford High School in the United States and from there to Tulane University in Louisiana (USA). In 1998 she came back to Germany and played with a double license for TSV Grünberg in the regional league and BC Marburg in the 1st women's basketball league . In October 2007 she moved to the first Finnish league at Honka Espoo, where her former Marburg teammate Mirka Jarchovska also plays basketball. For the 2008/2009 season she was committed by the second division promoted TSV Bender Basket Grünberg. Alexandra Keil is considered a defensive, athletic player who always subordinates her interests to the interests of the team.

Greatest successes

In 2003 she became German Cup winners and champions with BC Marburg . In addition, she won the bronze medal in the cup competition with the BC in 2002 and 2005. In 2005 she took part in the Universiade in Izmir , where she took sixth place with the DBB team.

National team

In 1996 Alexandra Keil took part in the U18 European Championship, but it was not until ten years later that she was appointed to the DBB A-squad . She made her debut in a tournament in Chieti / Italy on August 17, 2006 (42:69 defeat against Italy). The following month she successfully competed in the European Championship qualification . In 2007 she was nominated on call for the provisional national squad for the European Women's Basketball Championship from September 24 to October 7, 2007 in Chieti.
