Alexandra Kondracke

Alexandra Kondracke (* 1970 ) is an American film director , television director , screenwriter and camerawoman . Among other things, she was involved as a screenwriter and producer on the television series The L Word - When women love women .

Life

Alexandra Kondracke and her sister Andrea are the daughters of the psychotherapist Millicent (Milly) Martinez, who was married to Morton Kondracke, an actor and author, until her death in 2004.

She lives in Los Feliz , California and is married to film director Angela Robinson , whom she met while studying. In 2009 Angela Kondracke gave birth to a son.

Professional background

Alexandra Kondracke first studied at Dartmouth College . She moved to New York University for her postgraduate studies in directing and cinematography .

After that, she initially led the camera on several documentaries and reality TV shows . She worked for the Discovery Channel , the National Geographic Channel , TLC and VH1 and the BBC . In 2004 and 2005 she worked for the American Broadcasting Company , which is part of the Walt Disney Company . There she completed a trainee program in directing . She then worked for Showtime as the screenwriter and producer of the television series The L Word - When Women Love Women . For HBO , she became co-producer of the television series Hung . In 2014 her music film Girltrash: All Night Long was released , which was awarded as best film at the Festival International du Film Lesbien et Féministe de Paris in 2015.
