Career
society
Alexandru Bourceanu's career began in his hometown Galați at Dunărea Galați , where he moved up in the 2004/05 season to the first team that was then represented in the second highest Romanian division, Divizia B (now Liga II ). From the 2005/06 season he became a regular at Dunărea, but could not prevent relegation in 2008. Due to the performances this season he moved into the field of vision of the teams from League 1 , where he joined local rivals Oțelul Galați . On June 27, 2008 he came to his first use in the top Romanian league.
After a year Bourceanu got the opportunity to move to his top Romanian club when the reigning runner-up FC Timişoara took him under contract. Here, too, he immediately made the leap to regular strength. In the 2010/11 season he was runner-up behind Oțelul Galați with his new club . However, Timișoara was not approved for the 2011/12 season and had to be relegated to Liga II . Bourceanu then joined record champions Steaua Bucharest . He made a significant contribution to the 2013 championship and the subsequent Supercup victory (2013) for Steaua as team captain . Bourceanu thus won his first title there.
In February 2014, the 28-year-old midfielder moved to Trabzonspor and signed with them for the next three and a half years . At the end of the season he was loaned to his previous club Steaua Bucharest. In the summer of 2015 he returned to Trabzonspor and played for the reserve team. In October 2015 he left Trabzonspor by mutual agreement. Since the beginning of 2016 he has been under contract with Steaua again. At the beginning of 2017, the Russian first division club Arsenal Tula signed him .
National team
Bourceanu has played 27 games for the Romanian national soccer team so far . He made his debut in the friendly against Croatia on February 11, 2009 , when he came on for Paul Codrea in the 71st minute .
