Career

society

The 1.86 m tall, called Rolo , multifunctional defender Alexis Rolín, who can be used in all defensive positions , is characterized in particular by his speed and his two-footed ability. In Barrio Piedras Blancas born the second son of the youth football coach Germán and the cook Angélica grew up, he played since he was five years old, at Danubio football. At the age of ten he then moved to Nacional Montevideo . At this club, to which he has always been a fan, he went through all youth teams and later began his professional career there. Although he was part of the first team squad during several preparations for the season, the devout Afro-Uruguayan Christian Rolín did not make his debut in the Primera División until the 2010/11 season. Rolín came there under the then coach Juan Ramón Carrasco , who by his own admission valued Rolín's all-rounder skills, in the so-called Clasico , the duel between the two Uruguayan football giants Nacional and Peñarol on May 8, 2011 for the first time. As a left full-back he was right in the starting line-up and delivered an impressive first competitive game. From then on, Rolín, who has had a close friendship with Sebastián Coates since their youth at Nacional, established himself in the ranks of Nacionals. At the Bolsos he not only won the Torneo Clausura 2011, but was also able to decide the Copa Bimbo 2011 and the Uruguayan Championship 2010/11 in favor of the club with his teammates . Then Rolín completed a total of 31 first division games for Nacional in the subsequent 2011/12 season, in which he was also on the starting line-up. He scored a total of three goals. His team repeated winning the national championship title from the previous season. He was also on the pitch in five Copa Libertadores matches . (As of August 14, 2012) There are also three games in the Copa Sudamericana (1 goal). In August 2012, Rolín signed a four-year contract with the Italian first division club Catania Calcio . The Uruguayan press estimated the transfer volume at 4.5 million US dollars. In the 2012/13 season he played eleven Serie A games there and ranked eighth in the table with his club at the end of the season. In the 2013/14 season he was used 25 times (no goal). This was followed by four more appearances (no goal) in Serie B in the 2014/15 season. In mid-January 2015 he was loaned to the Boca Juniors in Argentina . There he was used in 13 league games (no goal), one game (no goal) of the national cup and in an encounter of the Copa Libertadores 2016 . In 2015 he won with the team both the championship and the Copa Argentina cup competition . From July 2016 a rental station at Club Olimpia followed . With the Paraguayos he was used in 13 league games. He did not score a hit. The loan, which was actually limited to July 2017, was terminated early in January 2017. Rolín returned to Nacional Montevideo. Since then (as of February 9, 2017) he has not played a first division game for the “Bolsos” in the current 2017 season.

National team

Under coach Diego Aguirre , Rolín was also part of the U-20 squad of Uruguay and made his debut there in the Copa Tarek Saab on October 22, 2008 in the game against Colombia. In total, he ran three times for the U-20 Uruguayans. Rolín's name was then initially part of a provisional preselection list announced by national coach Óscar Tabárez on February 14, 2012 , from which the nominees for the Uruguayan team at the Olympic football tournament of the 2012 Olympic Games were to be recruited. He made his debut in the Olympic selection on April 25, 2012 against Egypt. After all, he was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the Olympic soccer tournament . There are six international matches for Rolín in the national Olympic team.
