Alfons Schöpflin

Alfons Schöpflin (* 19th November 1898 in Burgstädt ; † 13. May 1970 in Berlin ) was a German journalist and SPD - politician .

Life

Schöpflin was a son of the Saxon Reichstag member Georg Schöpflin (1869-1954). He learned to mold and cast iron . During the First World War he became a soldier and was seriously wounded . In the Weimar Republic he worked as a journalist for several social democratic newspapers , including the Spandauer Volksblatt . With the seizure of power of the Nazis , he was first in protective custody taken, later he worked as a sales representative and employee of the city of Berlin.

After the Second World War , Schöpflin became a head of the transport department at the Magistrate of Berlin and as an authorized signatory with the license holder of the newspaper Der Sozialdemokrat . At the same time he was one of the founding members of the German Association of Journalists in Berlin. From 1952 to 1961 he was editor-in-chief of the Spandauer Volksblatt . In these capacities, among other things, he was responsible for the publication of the Spandau home calendar in several years.

From 1946 to 1948 Schöpflin was a member of the city ​​council of Greater Berlin , at the same time he was chairman of the SPD in the Neukölln district . Schöpflin also sat on the supervisory board of the SPD real estate company Concentration GmbH .
