Alfonso de Jesús Hinojosa Berrones

Alfonso de Jesús Hinojosa Berrones (born October 7, 1924 in Monterrey ; † February 23, 2017 ) was a Mexican Roman Catholic clergyman , auxiliary bishop in Monterrey and bishop of Ciudad Victoria .

Life

Alfonso de Jesús Hinojosa Berrones studied at the Seminary of Monterrey and was with a work on the doctrine in Rome to Dr. theol. PhD . He was ordained a priest on October 9, 1949, and held various positions in the seminary for several years.

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Ciudad Victoria on February 12, 1974 . The Archbishop of Monterrey, Alfonso Espino y Silva , ordained him episcopal on April 5th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were José de Jesús Tirado Pedraza , auxiliary bishop in Monterrey, and Fortino Gómez León , old archbishop of Antequera .

On April 10, 1985, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Monterrey by Pope John Paul II . On February 2, 2000, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
