Alfred Erich Sistig

Alfred Erich Sistig (born October 18, 1909 in Hagen ; † September 8, 1980 in Duisburg-Rheinhausen ) was a German dramaturge , theater director and theater director .

Live and act

After his first experiences as a director in Hagen, he became assistant to Gustaf Gründgens in Berlin . From 1946 to 1949 and again from 1955 to 1960 he was dramaturge and drama director at the Münchner Kammerspiele , between 1949 and 1955 dramaturge and director at the Landestheater Hannover .

From 1960 to 1968 he was general manager at the Munster Municipal Theaters . There he staged, among other things, Grabbes Don Juan and Faust (1966) and the German premiere of Marguerite Duras ' Whole Days in the Trees (1967, with Tilla Durieux ). His production of TS Eliot's Sweeney Agonistes was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen in 1967 .

From 1968 to 1975 Sistig was general manager at the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden . Directed works here were Wagner's Rheingold (1969) and Grabbe's Napoleon or Die Hundred Tage (1970).
