Alfred Spitzner

Alfred Spitzner (born July 19, 1921 in Parsberg ; † February 21, 1992 ) was a German architect and politician ( CSU ). From 1978 until his death in 1992 he was the district council president of the Upper Palatinate .

Life

Spitzner, who comes from a family of church painters, was born on July 19, 1921 in Parsberg. His ancestors came from South Tyrol. After attending the New High School in Regensburg (Abitur 1940) and doing military service, he studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich . After a short collaboration in an architecture firm in Munich and Regensburg, he set up his own business in Parsberg in 1950. He was a member of the District Assembly of the Upper Palatinate (since 1970), Deputy President of the District Assembly (1974–1978) and finally, from November 8, 1978, President of the District Assembly. Until his death in 1992, he practiced his architectural profession alongside his voluntary work as district council president.
