Johann Pösl

Johann "Hans" Pösl (born March 20, 1907 in Saubersrieth , municipality of Moosbach (Upper Palatinate) ; † November 2003 in Schwabach- Wolkersdorf) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Life

Pösl was the second of six children to be born. He attended a humanistic grammar school in Straubing and studied economics at the Technical University of Munich . From 1933 to 1945 he worked for the Reichs-Kredit-Gesellschaft . In 1937 he became idOpf at the road and river construction office in Weiden. set. At the beginning of the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht , he took part in several campaigns.

After the invasion of the US armed forces in the Upper Palatinate, he was appointed by the US military government as district administrator of the Vohenstrauss district and then elected in August 1945. He was then co-founder of the CSU in Bavaria and in the Weiden district and was also president of the Upper Palatinate District Assembly . In 1946 he was a member of the Advisory State Committee. In 1948 he moved to the Bavarian state parliament for Maria Deku . As a delegate of the Bavarian State Parliament, Pösl was a member of the first Federal Assembly , which elected Theodor Heuss as the first German Federal President in 1949 . In 1950 he was directly elected in the Nabburg - Oberviechtach - Vohenstrauß district, and in 1954 he left the state parliament. In the early 1970s he was a member of the Bavarian Senate for fourteen months, where he represented the liberal professions.

Pösl had been married to Katharina "Kathi" Pösl since 1937 and had two sons. The 96-year-old Pösl went missing on July 15, 2003. The search initiated was unsuccessful. His body was found on November 20 that year in the thicket of a forest in the Schwabach district of Wolkersdorf near his last place of residence. He suffered from senile dementia and poor eyesight. The funeral service was held in the Weiden parish of St. Elisabeth.

He was a member of the Catholic student association KStV Isaria Freising.
