Alfred Zirnstein

Alfred Zirnstein (born July 28, 1899 in Sebnitz ; † not known) was a German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was chairman of the Dresden district committee of the DBD and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Zirnstein, son of a weaver and smallholder , attended elementary school in Ottendorf and worked as a farm worker. He did military service in World War I and was taken prisoner . From 1920 to 1944 he worked as a textile worker. In 1920 Zirnstein joined the SPD, the textile workers 'association and the workers' cycling association "Solidarity" . From 1930 to 1933 he was a community representative in Ottendorf.

After the National Socialists “ seized power ” in 1933, Zirnstein was imprisoned in the Hohnstein concentration camp for several months . In 1944 he worked as a small farmer in Ottendorf before he was drafted again for military service in 1944/45.

After the war ended in 1945 he worked as a working individual farmer until 1948. In 1946 he joined the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB) and in 1949 the Democratic Farmers Party of Germany (DBD). In 1951 he became a member of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship . Between 1951 and 1953 he was a member of the Sebnitz District Assembly, from 1952 to 1954 he was a member of the Dresden District Assembly . From 1953 initially deputy chairman of the Dresden district committee of the DBD, Zirnstein was chairman of the Dresden district association of the DBD from 1953 to 1957 and a member of the party committee of the DBD from 1953 to 1963. Between 1953 and 1957 he was also a member of the Dresden District Board of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship. From 1954 to 1957 he also served as the second chairman of the Dresden District Association of the VdgB and was a member of the Dresden District Committee of the National Front of Democratic Germany . In 1958 he was co-founder of the LPG "Am Großstein" in Ottendorf and became its chairman. From 1958 he was a member of the Sebnitz district board of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship.

From 1954 to 1963 Zirnstein was also a member of the People's Chamber and a member of the committee of the rules of procedure.
