Alfredo Mario Espósito Castro

Alfredo Mario Espósito Castro CMF (born May 20, 1927 in Naples , Italy , † January 1, 2010 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) was an Argentine religious and bishop of Zárate-Campana .

Life

Alfredo Mario Espósito Castro, son of the Argentine consul in Naples, joined the Claretian order and was ordained a priest on August 1, 1954 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 21, 1976 the first bishop of the newly founded diocese of Zárate-Campana . The episcopal ordination received his Archbishop Pio Laghi , Apostolic Nuncio in Argentina and later Cardinal , on July 4, 1976; Co- consecrators were Ramón José Castellano , Archbishop of Córdoba , and José María Márquez Bernal CMF, Episcopal Prelate of Humahuaca .

On December 18, 1991, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation for health reasons. He died after a long illness and was buried in Campana .
